The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) has launched its Education Portal, linking to eagerly anticipated new learning management system (LMS) SVS OnDemand.

Education Committee chair Kellie Brown, MD, hailed the site an online hub that covers all educational needs. Links are also available to live meetings and courses, a new video library, Journal of Vascular Surgery (JVS) publications, guidelines and reporting standards, Audible Bleeding podcasts and the Vascular Educational Self-Assessment Program (VESAP).

SVS OnDemand contains online lectures from prior iterations of the Vascular Annual Meeting (VAM), courses and webinars as well as Vascular Atlas, with “just-in-time” surgical technique guides.

“‘Just-in-time learning’ is an approach to individual or organizational learning and development that promotes need-related training be readily available exactly when and how it is needed by the learner,” explained Brown.

The Video Library contains 54 procedural videos on surgical techniques presented at VAM.

SVS ONLINE 2020 meeting content will be free to ONLINE attendees. Others can purchase access via member/non-member pricing. Trainees may access all materials for free. Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits are to be offered in the future.

“Visit the Education Portal today—your centralized source for core and trending educational content and information about vascular surgery,” added Brown.
