It “takes village” to build a community like the one that the Eastern Vascular Society (EVS) has grown into, outgoing president Brajesh K. Lal, MD, told the EVS annual meeting in Nashville, Tennessee (Sept. 4–7). Lal was delivering the 2025 presidential address on building on the society for the 21st century.
He told those gathered that the sort of “frontier spirit, camaraderie and environment for mentorship” he saw early encouraging young people to choose vascular as a career is “so integral to the personality of this meeting. I am very happy to say that this focus on mentorship is just as strong today as it was when I joined,” he added, revealing how the society had just passed the 1,000-member mark.
