Vascular Health Makes Headlines in Chicago

In the weeks leading up to 2011 Vascular Annual Meeting®, June 16-18, in Chicago, the Find the AAAnswers public education program conducted a media campaign to raise awareness about abdominal aortic aneurysms and vascular health. SVS is a founding Coalition partner of the Find the AAAnswers program.

Former Washington Redskins quarterback, Joe Theismann, appeared on Chicago FOX and NBC morning shows to talk about his commitment to improving AAA awareness and screening through his work with SVS and Find the AAAnswers. Various articles appeared in the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times.

SVS Treasurer,Dr. R. Clement Darling, III, is the SVS Find the AAAnswers coalition representative. He was interviewed by CBS Radio, Comcast, and Chicago TV CAN-TV, a local public broadcast station, dedicated an entire half-hour show to vascular health featuring Dr. Darling.

Vascular Annual Meeting attendees had the opportunity to meet Joe Theismann following his motivational talk where he shared prized memories from his time on the gridiron.

Find the AAAnswers hosted a free AAA screening, where 65 at-risk individuals were screened for AAA. Thanks to all who participated, and for more ways to stay involved find these opportunities at FindtheAAAnswers.org:
