2310

The Society for Vascular Nursing (SVN) 38th Annual Conference—a virtual meeting—will be held from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Central Daylight Time Wednesday, July 15.

In addition to live presentations, including the keynote address, SVN also is offering a number of on-demand sessions.

Leah Weisberg, RN, will kick off the meeting with her keynote address, “Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Health.” Weisberg is president of the Canadian Holistic Nurses Association and has an integrative healthcare center in Toronto.

She suffered burnout from hospital work early in her career and will discuss the cognitive, emotional and physiological strategies that help decrease the stress response and prevent its over-activation. This will be presented in the context of self-care and the benefits of staying well in order to care effectively for patients.

Five presentations will follow her address, on topics that include claudication, managing direct acting oral anticoagulants (DOACs), aortic dissections, vascular access and the nurse practitioner perspective and DOACs in peripheral artery disease (PAD).

Beginning July 16, registrants will have access to 25 OnDemand presentations, including the keynote address and the other presentations that are part of the live program. The schedule is here.

Registrants can receive up to 14 contact hours for their participation.
