Getinge is investing €3 million in its manufacturing of polyester grafts and patches to treat aneurysmal and occlusive diseases. The investment aims at increasing manufacturing capacity in Getinge’s site in La Ciotat, France.
“We have seen a growing demand from our customers for our vascular grafts portfolio and in order to meet this demand we will expand our facility area and equipment,” says Jocelyn Lebrun, managing director of Getinge La Ciotat. “We also estimate that the investment will lead to an increased need for additional personnel, primarily within engineering and manufacturing.”
The site produces approximately 230,000 units per year—estimated to support saving 500 lives per day, Lebrun added.
