The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) honored six members Thursday with the Excellence in Community Service award.
This award, in only its third year, honors surgeons in community practice for their outstanding leadership within their community as a practicing vascular surgeon, who have exceptional personal integrity and reflect the highest standards of the profession.
Because of the cancellation of the 2020 Vascular Annual Meeting (VAM), the three 2020 recipients were honored along with the celebrants from 2021.
The 2020 honorees are Krishna Jain, MD, Russell Samson, MD, and William Shutze, MD.
The 2021 honorees are John Kirkland, MD, of Rome, Georgia; Daniel McGraw, MD, of New Braunfels, Texas; and Kenneth Schwartz, MD, Purchase, New York.
